Waukee APEX

During my Junior year of High School, I joined a program through my school called Waukee APEX (Aspiring Professional Experience). APEX offers students an opportunity to have a class that is housed directly in a business around Des Moines, which fully immerses the student in a professional environment. My class was Designing Communication Solutions and we were housed at DLR Group in downtown Des Moines. APEX was the first experience I had with graphic design, and I immediately developed a passion for it. During my time at APEX, I worked on various design projects such as logos and infographics, and I also worked with clients to develop marketing plans and strategies. I was also chosen as one of the students to give keynote presentations about the program to different schools around the Des Moines area.
